Newland “Build on North Field” (or May Day Field):- Why it Shouldn’t Happen

North Somerset Council and Yatton Parish Council should stand up for our Neighbourhood Plan and refuse planning for building outside of the land it identifies. Our Plan is now part of planning procedure and should be fully complied with.

Newland Homes are suggesting that they may leave the May Day Field undeveloped for community use in return for building on the North Field and ask for support to do that.

The Neighbourhood Plan is written to protect both the North and May Day Fields, neither should be developed, it isn’t a matter of choice.

If, for some reason building did take place on the North Field or the May Day Field it would mean a key part of the Plan would be in question and building on many green fields around our village might then be allowed. Remember that land can be made accessible by buying properties to create roads (that was tried in Dunster’s Road)

SO PLEASE SUPPORT OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN

SIMPLY ASK THAT IT IS FULLY COMPLIED WITH.

(Newland Homes’ current proposals only comply with parts of our Plan and ignore the key matter of what land to use)

  1. As a Claverham resident, I say NO to building on the May Day field and the North field.
The Claverham plan is at risk if Newland Homes are able to build here!
